Without playing the QF game, I confess that my OTB play in both positions is d (down) = 13/10*/9. As I stated in my earlier post, I don’t want to make the 10pt because the 4pt, six pips away, is already made. The two don’t work well together.

Including meta-data as part of the calculation, such as QF and the implication that the two positions require different handling, I would adjust as follows. The difference must be the made 7pt. In the new position, that makes it unreasonable to play Snua’s alternative, D (Down) = 13/10*, 8/7. Therefore, let me guess that D is correct in the initial position and the more conventional d is best in the new one.
As Stick pointed out earlier, not hitting does not make sense, so A (Attack) = 8/5 6/5 should be taken off the table in the original position.
