No question that more matches is a better test, but why should he subject himself to that if not for a potential financial reward? As for why I think there should be a higher than 2.3 threshold is because as the "accused" he should be given some slack and given some of the benefit of the doubt. Probably the best way to structure a bet is to get paid X or pay Y for every point above or below a certain level, but this is all far too complicated and I doubt we will ever settle on fair terms. However, it is not for us to settle terms...I was just throwing out a possible scenario. It's up to an accuser to make an offer and for Stick to accept or reject it, or he can make an offer if he so chooses. My point is that unless someone is willing to put their money where their mouth is, or offer some kind of proof, they clearly have no right to make accusations.

A few years back Paul Weaver and I, together, and with proof, exposed an on-line player named Red Top. I backed up the accusation with several offers to bet on his ability to play under 6.0 ER live...he had been averaging well under 5 on line and often played around 3. He never took any of my challenges nor did he make a counter offer (except one to play on line in a manner where he could continue to cheat).

Both Paul and I were criticized viciously by some of Red Top's friends and followers and others who said we didn't have substantial proof, but we stuck to our guns and backed it up with very reasonable challenges and even "no risk" offers where he could only take our money if he proved us wrong.

Soon, others stepped forward with stories of how Red Top had cheated them or they had knowledge of other dishonest behavior, and he has since not come to a major tournament. He did show up at a club event in North Carolina and USED A FAKE NAME, but Ken Larsen suspected something and sent me his picture and he was again exposed.

That is how you expose a cheater: you offer proof (which Paul and I outlined in writing) and you give the person a reasonable offer to prove you wrong.
