There are no newer versions. There are many better bulletin board programs. Some are free. With features that include allowing you, the user, to edit or remove your own post.

Cough. Better according to whom? Before selecting these boards I checked all the available forum software. There was really nothing that allowed fully enabled HTML which I wanted and needed. I ran forums before these and in the past have been a postwhore on many forums ranging from poker, backgammon, Smashing Pumpkins, to computer 'stuff'. I still think these are the best for what I want. I do not want to have to click through this, that, and the other to find posts in a certain grouping. I want them all there in front of my face.

I have the option now to allow users to edit or remove their own posts. You have to be crazy to think enabling this is a good idea.
