I found that I don't like multiple positions in one post problems (unless the positions are clearly related, but even then)....
I've been in this camp from day 1, but (slightly) contrary to you, I'd much rather have multiple position posts have unrelated themes/games than related themes or (worst of all) continuation of the same game. So I was less bothered by the DQ's (most of the time) than typical multi-position posts.
I've recently read that different people have different optimal learning methods. So maybe some people learn more from multiple position posts than I do. In school (at least in subjects that involved DOING as opposed to memorizing/regurgitating) I got very little from lectures. I had to work problems, derive relationships, speak the foreign language, etc. in order to learn. That carries over to BG -- give me the (uninfluenced) question first (one stair-step at a time) and let me trip and stumble before trying to support me.
