501 Essential Backgammon Problems by Bill Robertie – Aimed at the improving intermediates game by presenting a vast array of problems covering many aspects of the game. A very insightful book, and even though Robertie does go wrong at times according to modern day neural net technology (eg GNU & Snowie), the thought process involved and explanation make his reasoning clear. The biggest drawback of this book is the format. It is presented in sections, where section one gives you all the problems, then you have to flip to a different part of the book for the answers. What this means is that you’re constantly flipping back & forth & back & forth. It is still a good investment though, and perfect for office reading, guys, you should know what I mean. (When you have time to flip!) It is also the best buy you’ll find for the list price of $20 US. From what others have said, mostly intermediate players, they like it because they feel nothing in this book is beyond their capabilities, but they still manage to get problems wrong making them realize they have tons of room for improvement.
