It seems pretty clear structure-wise that it's correct to anchor up against 31P and to make our 5pt against 53P. (If the roll is 61, just use the ace to move the blot 11/10). With these observations in mind, against 42P the decision is much harder, but I'd guess the two plays are close. For practical purposes, during match play the score would swing my decision one way or another.

P.S. In the OP it's crystal clear to anchor up AtS since the 5pt making play strips the 8pt instead of unstacking the 6pt and hence anchoring up should be a better play for money. But I would consider making the 5pt if the score were reversed.
